Fully realized Dzogchen practitioners can dissolve the physical body at death.
With Trekcho practice, the practitioner can reach the so-called
rainbow body when the body is gradually reduced and dissolved in the
iridescent light, with the result that there are only hair and nails.
Through the practice Togyal when completely depleted any grasping and
fixation, five gross physical body elements dissolve in five pure
elements, five-color light, so that the body is transformed into light
in the space and disappears.
So did Garab Dorje, Manjushrimitra, Shri Singh Dzhnyanasutra and Vairocana.
Another achievement is the practice Togyal "Rainbow Body of Great
Transference" (ja 'lus' pho ba chen po), when the master of the body
dissolves in glowing terms, and continues to live for many centuries for
the benefit of sentient beings.
Thus did Padmasambhava, Vimalamitra.
"When
dying realized yogi, at the time of his death, he is freed from the
shackles of the physical body and reaches enlightenment Dharmakaya at
the same moment he does not go through the experience of post-mortem
state Bardo -. Samsaric path completed during his lifetime for him His
death is like a day of the full moon. when
the sun meets the moon without the twilight between them. If yoga has a
stable implementation of the nature of mind, he does not lose
consciousness at the moment of death, his awareness simply merges with
the nature of the phenomena without fainting or forgetfulness. So, for
example, died master Samten Gyatso (1880 -1944), a teacher, Tulku Urgyen Rinpoche (1920-1996). He was just
sitting in a meditative posture, without moans and sighs, wide-eyed,
watching the clear sky.
In its previous incarnation, in the XIX century, Tulku Urgyen Rinpoche was hidden yoga. He
never let anyone taught and even pretended not practice at all,
although it was common knowledge that he - the reincarnation of the
great Guru Chowang (XIII century BC). No one even knew what he was doing practice, as all them kept secret. When he died, his body was reduced to a size of 45 centimeters.
In 1956 he attained the rainbow body of a Tibetan master Sonam Namgyal. This
wizard has lived all his life in poverty, earning a livelihood carved
mantras on the stones, and no one even considered realized
practitioners. Shortly
before his death began to notice unusual behavior for him: he climbed
to the top of the mountain, I was sitting there alone and often
incomprehensible singing songs and also composed himself. When he became ill, he was unusually happy and joyful. His
son said to him before he died that he should remember all the
teachings and instructions, which he received on that Sonam Namgyal
said: "I'm all right. In any case, there is already nothing to remember. The only thing I ask you, is to wrap up my body after death [in a shroud] and do not touch it for a week. " When
the body was transferred to another room on the fifth or sixth day
after death, everyone noticed that his heavy body incredibly relieved
and was easily carried through the doorway. In those days in the house and around there was a lot of rainbows. When after a week with the deceased removed all shrouds to carry the body for cremation, they found nothing but hair and nails.
The
great Tibetan master Jamyang Khyentse Chokyi Lodro (1893-1959), a
teacher Sogyal Rinpoche asked him to bring the hair and nails, and
personally confirmed that the implementation of the rainbow body.
....
Throughout
the long history of Tibetan Buddhism can count hundreds, if not
thousands of cases, the implementation of the rainbow body. Some of them have been registered documented, some were recognized
according to rumors, as many incidents took place in secret, so that
nobody will even know.
..... At some point in the history of Tibetan Buddhism to achieve the rainbow body it was almost commonplace.
Lama
Pema Changchub of Serta monastery, student Khenchen Jigme Phuntsog
Rinpoche (1933-2004) also received teachings from Khenpo Tsultrim Lodro
(this is one of the most active teachers in the Nyingma modern Tibet). Lama monk already 15-20 years, ethnic Chinese, told interesting. In
particular, the fact that in Tibet every year at least one teacher
realizes the rainbow body (eg Achuk Rinpoche went to this year) in our
time. Modern Zen masters, as well as masters and other Tibetan traditions, we can only rejoice that amount of high realizations. In
2004 Lama personally witnessed how the body of his teacher Jigme
Phuntsok Rinpoche after leaving reduced to one third in height in a
sitting position. It
said the lama, the best evidence to preserve the purity of Dzogchen
transmission lines and high efficiency Dzogchen practices in our time,
and he urged all to implement the rainbow body, that itself on its
experience to confirm this. They say that to realize it takes only 10 years of constant practice.
