Convinced that it is impossible to comprehend spiritual knowledge by his own efforts, one must come to a perceived need to accept a spiritual master.
The purpose of human life - to satisfy the Supreme Consciousness, earn His favor.
The spiritual master knows the Higher Consciousness, and how it can meet, understand why it gives authoritative explanation.
It also shows the quality of a pure devotee, making available to others the quality of Higher Consciousness.
Having a desire to get out of the maze of material existence, the conditioned living entity should take shelter of the spiritual advancement of the individual, which then connect it with the Supreme Consciousness.
Gradually we begin to develop a relationship that then grow into a guru-disciple relationship. Doubt that we found his spiritual master, completely disappear.
When selecting the guru should not dwell on such concepts of the spiritual master, as "it is very kind to me," "He always shows me the personal attention" or "he is so charming," and so on. E., Etc.
3 qualities that define qualified student.
1. Surrender guru (humbly bow)
2. inquire of it (humility, with a desire to receive instruction, whatever they were, of course, if they do not contradict the sastra and sadhu)
3. To serve, embodying the teachings of his guru, participating in the mission of the spiritual master, and personally serving his body, his needs (to be sought is a private service, the guru is present in the body).
Guru takes on more responsibility in front of the Supreme Consciousness for the return of the student to his lotus feet.
But the success of this will depend on the student, on his desire to volunteer for a spiritual teacher through all difficulties and trials, guided by a firm belief in him and his instructions.
We should not think that the guru will drag pupil to Higher Consciousness in the lasso.
Therefore, the student must actively hold in following the guru of all of his senses, mind, mind and soul.
He must go, comprehending the spiritual master, coming to an understanding of what their aim and purpose.
Return to God - it is not a mechanical process, it is a mutual responsibility to one another, and the guru-disciple.
